Local Development Scheme
The Local Development Scheme (LDS) confirms our timetable for preparing the new Local Plan and other documents which are, or will form part of, the ‘development plan’ for the area. We make the LDS publicly available and keep it updated so local communities and interested parties can follow the progress of the Local Plan.
Our latest 
Local Development Scheme (PDF 823KB) was approved on 15 October 2024. It sets out our programme for preparing development plan documents up to 2024. It's hoped that the new Local Plan will be adopted in 2026.

The LDS also gives information on the preparation of a new Joint Strategic Plan (JSP), covering South West Herts (Dacorum, St Albans, Three Rivers, Hertsmere and Watford). The timetable for preparing this document is not yet available. However, any information will be published here when ready.
