Planning and development
Our planning department is split into two elements. The first is Strategic Planning (planning policies), who prepare and review the planning policies, proposals and detailed guidance/advice on development within the borough, against which proposals for planning permission will be assessed. It deals with the long-term land use planning of the borough.
The other is Development Management, who deal with the day-to-day processes and decisions about individual applications to ensure that all development fits into the strategic plan. The main areas of the planning and development department can be seen below:
