Validation requirements
We require the submission of certain documents for planning applications to be valid. The Government has a list of national requirements. At present, we do not have our own local validation requirements.
We will not be validating planning applications without the Community Infrastructure Levy additional information forms. Further information can be found on our CIL page.
Development Management Committee
Not all planning applications are reported to our Development Management Committee. If the application is not contentious and falls within our Scheme of Delegation, it will be decided by the Development Manager.
In other cases, the application will be reported to the Development Management Committee (made up of local Councillors), which sits on a three-week cycle. The committee will then decide on the application. Agents, applicants and interested members of the public can register to speak at the Development Management Committee about any application they have an interest in. Please view our council meetings calendar for more information.
