Resident parking permits

Anyone who lives in a Controlled Parking Zone will need to create an account on the permit system and apply for a Resident Permit or Visitor Parking Sessions.

You will need to supply evidence that you live in the zone and that the vehicle qualifies for a permit. Once the application and supporting evidence have been submitted, payment will be requested, which must be made via debit or credit card. You will not receive a resident permit or visitor scratch cards to display in the vehicle as these are not required.

  • buy one permit per person, and
  • up to a maximum of three permits per property for vehicles registered to your address.

Vehicle types

A vehicle qualifying for a permit must be no more than five metres in length and two metres in height. Caravans and trailers do not qualify for resident parking permits. You can only park caravans and trailers within a resident bay or permit holders' parking area for the purposes of loading or unloading. You should then attach the caravan or trailer to the vehicle displaying a valid permit.

  • £60 for the second car
  • £80 for the third car
  • £20 for a motorcycle
