Our third Dacorum Climate Action Network (Dacorum CAN) annual networking event is being held on Monday 20 November.

The event, to be staged at The Forum, Hemel Hempstead, from 6pm to 8.30pm, is for residents to speak to like-minded people and organisations, with this year’s theme being ‘Community Climate Action’.

There will be four guest speakers and several stallholders on the evening, from various community groups across the borough, all of which are working towards a better, healthier climate. We will also be sharing information on the progress of our Climate and Ecological Strategy.

To book your free ticket and to see the agenda for the evening, visit our Dacorum Climate Action Network events and initiatives page.

  • The event has limited spaces available, so please book your free ticket as soon as possible to secure your place.
  • The event will also be streamed online, so select ‘Online Viewing’ to be given access to the livestream link closer to the time.

At the event, a vegetarian buffet will be provided as well as a range of activities during the networking breaks. Inspired by their popularity in previous years, these include pledge photo card props, a clothes swap demonstration rail, and a ‘wishing tree’ for people to contribute ideas about how Dacorum residents can help our climate and local environment.

Cllr Adrian England, our Portfolio Holder for Climate Change, and Deputy Leader, said: “The 2023 Dacorum CAN event is all about ‘can do’ initiatives from across the borough. This is a ‘listening’ council, and the purpose of this conference is to hear from people and groups across Dacorum, while reflecting together on how the Council can help, and where we need the Government to provide a connection.

“The event is also a brilliant networking opportunity for organisations interested in taking climate action. Places are limited, so if you want to get involved in the big conversation, book your tickets now.”

If you would like to find out more or sign up to the free network to be the first to hear about similar events and ways you can get involved to protect our climate locally, registration is quick and easy on our Dacorum CAN webpage.
