Single person discount
Who is eligible
A full Council Tax bill is based on at least two adults living in a property. Where there are fewer than two adults in a property a 25 per cent Single Person Discount is available.
There are certain groups of people who we do not count for Council Tax purposes when determining the number of adults in a household. These people are referred to as "disregarded persons".
How to apply
You can apply for a Single Person Discount by filling in our online form. You can also use this form to cancel your single person discount when someone else moves into your home.
