Grants
The grants scheme is designed to support projects, activities and improve the wellbeing of Dacorum residents. It is open to local groups, sports clubs and voluntary organisations that need funding for new projects benefiting people who live, work and study in Dacorum.
Applications must support our Vision and Priorities, as well as the "five ways to wellbeing" (see guidance section below). The funding limits are as follows:
- Community Grant: up to £4,000
- Small Grants Fund: up to £550
- Community Grant Training Bursary: up to £500.
Funding rounds
Each year there are three rounds for the Community and Small Grants funds. Applications will be accepted between:
- Round 1 – 1 April to 31 May
- Round 2 – 1 September to 31 October
- Round 3 – 1 December to 31 January
Grant decision-making panel meeting dates:
- Round 1 – Late June
- Round 2 – Late November
- Round 3 – Late February

If your application is successful, these are the standard terms and conditions that you will have to agree to before the grant payment is made.
If your application is successful, you will need to complete an evaluation form (see example below) at the end of your project or 12 months after receiving the grant. This form is part of the terms and conditions.
Small Grants
The Small Grants fund is available to charities, community and voluntary groups, sports clubs, and informal groups. It provides funding for new projects, one-off events, or equipment that will benefit Dacorum residents. The maximum grant is £550.
This application process is simpler and easier than the Community Grant process, but has the same terms and conditions.

Community Grant Training Bursary Scheme
This scheme helps unpaid coaches and volunteers at local sports, arts, heritage, cultural, and community groups by funding their training and qualifications. The aim is to enhance the skills and knowledge of volunteers, who play a vital role in the success of these clubs and organisations.
Funding ranges from a minimum of £100 to a maximum of £500. The bursary is part of the Community Grants scheme.

How to apply
You can submit an application at any time of the year. Please complete the online application form below:
Important: Once you have submitted your application, please email the following to grants@dacorum.gov.uk:
- Details about the training qualification/workshop you intend to take
- Evidence of the required 30 per cent match funding
You will also need to confirm you have these documents:
- Public Liability Insurance Certificate
- Confirmation email of Enhanced DBS if working with children or vulnerable adults
- Constitution/Governing Document/Letter of endorsement (as applicable)
- Safeguarding Policy certificate (dated within one year)
- Club/organisation recent bank statements.
Green Community Grants
As part of our climate and ecological emergency work, we offer Green Community Grants. You can apply for grants of £3,000, £5,000 or £10,000. These grants support community projects that align with the aims of the Dacorum Climate Action Network and benefit both the environment and Dacorum residents.
