Waste collection commitment
We have signed up to the Waste Collection Commitment. The commitment is a national standard of service devised by WRAP - the Waste Resources Action Programme. The principles within the commitment are now being used across the country as the definition of a good service.
What the commitment means for you
We are proud to have signed up and will be making every effort now and in the future to ensure that the service meets your expectations.
In line with the commitment, we aim to:
- Improve the web pages for this service
- Provide information about the service
- Offer better information at the point of collection
ISO 14001 accreditation
At Cupid Green Depot we are committed to providing you with a waste collection service whilst managing and reducing the environmental impact of our activities. This is achieved through having an Environmental Management System (EMS) in place.
An EMS is a structured framework for managing our significant environmental impacts. The EMS is certified to the International Standard for Environmental Management Systems ISO 14001:2004. The standard is designed to address the balance between delivering the service and reducing environmental impact.
Cupid Green Depot was the first local authority waste depot to achieve ISO 14001 for its waste service operations. We attained our accreditation in 2004.
We have developed and adopted an environmental policy which sets out its commitments both in respect of its own activities and, where appropriate, its influence on the wider community. For more information read our
