Parliamentary Boundary Review

The Boundary Commission for England (BCE) is carrying out an independent and impartial review of all constituencies in England, to rebalance the number of electors in each constituency. 

A secondary consultation on the BCE's initial proposals for new constituencies took place between 22 February and 4 April 2022, and included 32 public hearings across the country.

A third and final round of public consultation on revised constituency proposals ran between 8 November and 5 December 2022.

Borough wards: Local Government Boundary Commission for England Review

The Local Government Boundary Commission for England reviews the electoral and boundary arrangements of councils to make sure they are fair. Their reviews include at least two rounds of public consultation before they make recommendations for change. The latest review of Dacorum Borough Council started in 2023.

Polling District and Polling Place Review

Background information

What is a polling district?

A polling district is a geographical area created by the sub-division of a UK Parliamentary constituency for the purposes of a UK Parliamentary election.

What is a polling place?

A polling place is the building or area in which polling stations will be selected by the Returning Officer.

What is a polling station?

A polling station is the room or area within the polling place where voting takes place. Unlike polling districts and polling places, which are fixed by the Council, polling stations are chosen by the relevant Returning Officer for the election.
