Full Council unanimously approves Local Plan going to consultation

Members of Dacorum Borough Council unanimously approved, at a Full Council meeting on Wednesday (25 October), that the Local Plan – our Revised Strategy for Growth – be published for consultation.

The Revised Strategy for Growth is the next stage in preparing our Local Plan for 2024 to 2040, and this follows consultations when we asked residents and stakeholders for their comments in 2017 and 2020 to help to shape our strategy for the future of the borough.

Cllr Ron Tindall, Leader of the Council, said:

“We would like as many people as possible to tell us what they think of our Revised Strategy for Growth in this consultation, as the Local Plan will affect us all over the coming years including on areas such as housing, employment opportunities and infrastructure.

“Thank you if you gave your views in our previous consultations; we have made changes based on these, and now it’s so important that you provide us with your comments again.”

Cllr Sheron Wilkie, the Council’s Portfolio Holder for Place, said:

“We are excited to enter this next stage of the Local Plan process. It is vital that we receive feedback from our residents, as part of the consultation, so that we truly reflect their views.”

The consultation, which launches on Monday (30 October) at midday and will run for six weeks until Monday 11 December at 11.59pm, is to take place online through our new interactive engagement platform, Let’s Talk Dacorum. You can also provide feedback in person at local events, and by post.
