Residents rewarded in our good citizen prize draw

Two residents have won shopping vouchers in a good citizen prize draw we are running in partnership with District Enforcement throughout 2023.

District Enforcement enviro-crime officers hand out entry cards when witnessing good behaviours demonstrated by members of the public in relation to all our Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs), such as disposing of litter correctly or picking up after their dog.

Congratulations to Sorush Khosravi from Chaulden and Elaine Muzio of Leverstock Green who were spotted by the officers putting their litter in a bin and entered into the draw. Cllr Julie Banks, our Portfolio Holder for Communities, drew their names from the December entries.

Cllr Banks said: “We spend large sums cleaning up the streets of Dacorum and much of this is unnecessary litter and dog mess. With this initiative we want to encourage people to help protect their surroundings and reward the right behaviour. If we can get more litter and dog waste in bins, we can save money that we are currently spending on this cleaning and divert it to other services or community projects.”
