Applying to operate a fair
Anyone wishing to apply to operate a fair on council-owned land is required to give us notice prior to
the holding of the event. We require a minimum of one

operational compliance certificate before permission is granted for
the fair to operate.
Fairs are controlled by the Showmen's Guild and there are
regulations that give fairs the right to operate on
particular sites and at particular times based on previous visits.
