Property conditions

With any privately rented property, there is an expected standard for each of the facilities. The housing health and safety rating system (HHSRS) is an evaluation tool to help local authorities identify and protect against potential risks and hazards to health and safety in privately rented properties.

The Government has created a guide to the HHSRS - Reducing the risks: the housing health and safety rating system - showing the 29 standards we are able to enforce. Find out more about  HHSRS enforcement in Dacorum (PDF 414KB).

We have put together factsheets with further information about the standards expected for different kinds of private rented property.
