How to bid for properties and next steps
Bidding on available properties
Once your housing application is activated you can start to place bids. You will need to check the Moving with Dacorum website regularly and bid on any suitable properties. All properties will be advertised for a minimum of three days, with the exception of supported housing properties (mainly for those over 60 years of age) that are advertised weekly from Wednesday to Monday.
When you'll be contacted
If you are shortlisted for a property, a member of our Housing Needs Team will be in touch within two working days of an advert closing to request documents from you so that we are able to verify your circumstances. The requested verification documents may include: bank statements, photo identification, proof of address, and evidence of income and/or benefits. All shortlisted applicants are given 48 hours to provide documents to our Housing Needs Team.
If your bid for a property has been unsuccessful, you will be able to see this on your Moving with Dacorum account. We are unable to contact all unsuccessful applicants.
Change of circumstances
If you have not told us about any changes in your circumstances, or you do not reply to our calls or email within 48 hours of being contacted, you will not be considered further. If your circumstances have changed, your application will be suspended until it is re-assessed.
After you've been offered a property
Once you've been offered a property, your information will be passed on to our Lettings Team, who will get in touch with you to arrange a viewing, either in person or virtually, and they will be able to let you know the timeframes for moving in. If you are nominated to a registered provider, they’ll be in contact with you directly.
Refusing an offer
If you bid on a property and are the successful applicant but you refuse the offer of housing then you will not be allowed to bid again for six months.
