Anti-social behaviour - animals
The Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 covers situations where animals are creating a nuisance or people’s use of animals is deemed as anti-social.
For instance, in relation to dogs, we can tackle issues such as:
- dogs that persistently stray
- dogs that cause a nuisance in parks/town centres
- dogs that have bitten/injured another animal or person
- dogs being used to intimidate people.
We also use a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO). This is a way of controlling certain anti-social behaviours that have taken place in particular public areas. We currently have a Dog Control PSPO which is aimed specifically at the behaviour of dogs and their owners.
