Mental health - children and young people

This page has a directory of organisations that can help and support you with any worries or struggles with mental health.

The guide is split into different sections:

General: This is the main section of the directory. It is broken down into sub headings - “Information”, “Helpline”, “Face-to-face”, “Other”. This is to ensure you are contacting the most appropriate organisation for your needs.

The other sections in the guide (self-harm, eating disorders etc) are for organisations that are specifically focused on the topic area. For example, B- Eat would be contacted specifically for worries and questions about eating disorders, whereas ChildLine could be contacted for lots of different issues you may be worried about such as anxiety, depression, grieving when someone has died.

Please note: If you need urgent help please call 999 or visit your local A&E department.

To read more about services available in Dacorum and across Hertfordshire, and to find out what happens after a referral (from a GP or self-referral), please visit out mental health homepage.

ChildLine is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and can be contacted on 0800 1111.
