To celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III on Saturday 6 May 2023, we will be hosting a weekend of events in Gadebridge Park.
On Saturday 6 May, there will be a live screening of the Coronation ceremony, together with entertainment for all the family, including Coronation-themed arts and crafts, a mini petting zoo, face painting, fairground rides and crazy golf. There
will also be a range of interactive entertainment to keep everyone amused, including stilt walkers, balloon modelling and bubble fun.
On Sunday 7 May, the Old Town Market will be open from 11am to 3pm. From around 4pm onwards, there will be family films on the big screen in Gadebridge Park, followed by a live screening of the Coronation concert from Windsor.
A range of food and drink stalls will be available on both days, provided in partnership with Hemel Old Town Market.
Event timings are still being finalised, as the running order for the Coronation ceremony on Saturday, and Coronation concert on Sunday have not yet been released. Further information and the latest timings for the events will be shared on our social media channels and our Coronation page.
The Coronation weekend is also a great opportunity for friends and neighbours to get together for a street party. Further guidance for those wanting to organise a street party is available on our Coronation Big Lunch page.
If your street party or event is on a public road, will need to get permission to close the road. Road closures in Dacorum are processed by Hertfordshire County Council. The deadline to apply for permission is Sunday 26 March.

Cllr Julie Banks, our Portfolio Holder for Communities, said: "I am delighted that we will be hosting these events for friends and families to celebrate this historic occasion in the beautiful setting of Gadebridge Park. I hope that residents will also take
the opportunity to get together with their communities to enjoy street parties over the Coronation weekend."
More information about our Coronation events, and guidance on organising a street party, is available on our Coronation page.
