Hemel Hempstead Post Office reopens at new location

Hemel Hempstead Post Office has been officially reopened at a new location on Marlowes.

Mayor of Dacorum, Cllr John Birnie, Rt Hon Sir Mike Penning MP for Hemel Hempstead and Leader of the Council, Cllr Andrew Williams, cut the ribbon at the community celebration on Thursday 7 July 2022.

The new location is at Unit 1, 160 Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 1BA and is run by experienced postmaster Saf Abdeen.

Cllr Birnie said: “People were worried when they heard that their main Post Office in Hemel Hempstead was to close. They are very relieved that a replacement branch has opened. I want to thank Postmaster Saf Abdeen for starting this new business. The design of the new premises is innovative and impressive.”

Cllr Williams said: “A Post Office is at the heart of a community. The re-opening of the branch at a new location is essential to the town centre. Hemel Hempstead will benefit from the experienced Postmaster and staff operating this branch."

The former Post Office at 181-183 Marlowes closed in May when the lease expired. Staff from the previous Post Office branch now work in the relocated Post Office with further jobs created for those employed to work on the retail side of the business.

The opening hours are Monday to Friday: 9am to 6.30pm; Saturday: 10am to 5.30pm; Sunday: 10.30am to 4.30pm.
