Christmas and New Year opening hours


Our offices

This year, The Forum and our Customer Service phone lines we will close early at 4pm on Friday 24 December (Christmas Eve) and Friday 31 December (New Year’s Eve). They will be closed over the Christmas and New Year bank holidays - Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 December and Monday 3 January 2022. During these times you can still use all our online services. You can contact the emergency council housing repairs service on 0800 018 6050 and make payments using our 24-hour automated service on 0345 370 6070.

Cemeteries

Woodwells and Heath Lane in Hemel Hempstead, Kingshill in Berkhamsted and Tring Cemetery are open throughout Christmas and the New Year. Winter opening hours: Monday to Saturday 8am to 4.30pm, Sundays and bank holidays 9am to 4.30pm. The cemetery offices at Woodwells will be closed on the bank holidays, and Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 December and Monday 3 January 2022.

Parking

On Christmas Eve, our parking contractor - Saba Park Services UK Ltd - will close its office at 4pm. This means that the phone number for public enquiries - 01908 223505 – will be unmanned between 4pm and 5.15pm, when the out-of-hours service begins.

Recycling Centres

The Recycling Centres at Eastman Way, Hemel Hempstead, and Northbridge Road, Berkhamsted, are run by Hertfordshire County Council. Find out more about when they are open over the festive period.

The Old Town Hall Theatre

The Old Town Hall Theatre will be open from 11am to 2pm on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 December. It will then be closed until Tuesday 4 January 2022, when it will be open from 11am to 2pm.
