Huber Car Park Systems (HCPS) have progressed well with the installation of reinforcement cages for the construction pile caps, with 60 per cent complete and four of 14 lightning protection connections made to date.
As the project progresses new measures have been put in place, starting with the diversion of the back entrance to Waitrose to enable the safe use of mobile cranes and work platforms. The new pedestrian access routes are shown (in yellow) on the
pedestrian route plan (PDF 103KB).
This week marks the start of structural formation with the installation of precast stair cores using a crane. As with any precast elements lifted close to access roads, there will be the need for intermittent closures, usually lasting for no longer than five minutes at a time.
To minimise the impact upon the local community HCPS has ensured that deliveries are made at low traffic periods and on less busy routes.
Huber’s on-site team are happy to be approached by residents to answer any queries or questions during the ongoing development.
