We're looking forward to working with our partners to set up a 'Tenant Academy'. It's hoped the Tenant Academy will offer free training opportunities to the wider tenant and leaseholder population with the aim of supporting people to:
- Develop new skills
- Improve their health and wellbeing
- Prepare for college, university, employment or volunteering
We've already carried out a survey to ask tenants whether they feel that a Tenant Academy would be a good idea. Support was overwhelming, with 90 per cent of respondents in favour.
At the moment we're running digital skills courses for the over 60s. These courses are free and run by our partners, Dacorum Communities for Learning (DCfL).
Each course lasts seven weeks and takes place at our supported housing schemes, which means you’re bound to find a course near you.
We’re also about to launch a series of dance classes in our supported housing schemes. This is a fun way to get up and moving with your friends.
We’ll publish a full list of courses as soon as they become available.
If you, or someone you know is interested in taking part, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01442 228000 and ask for tenant involvement.
