Youth Tenant Involvement

Welcome to the Youth Tenant Involvement page. We are a small group of young people (aged between 10 and 18) who meet regularly to learn about housing, do projects in our community and have fun. The group are given a voice and the opportunity to influence the housing service.

Some of the things we've done recently include:
  • Working on a photo project for the Forum - the new shared services hub.
  • Working with Clean, Safe and Green looking at various posters and giving opinions on the design.
  • Learning about home repairs from Osborne.
  • A consultation session with Resident Services discussing the possibility of developing a new youth group.
  • Learning about youth homelessness from Herts Young Homeless.
  • Playing cricket at Boxmoor Cricket Club.
  • Sleeping out at St Albans Abbey to raise money for Herts Young Homeless.

When we meet

The group was set up by council employees, who help to run our sessions. They work hard to plan activities for us that are fun and interesting.

During term time, we meet every other Thursday between 4.30pm and 6.30pm at The Forum in Hemel Hempstead. In the school holidays, we go out and about around Dacorum doing different activities.

Join us

If you want to get involved in YTI, you must be aged between 10 and 18 and living in a Dacorum Borough Council-owned home.

To get involved, download the  Registration form - child-young person under the age of 18 (PDF 192KB) and get your parent or guardian to complete it and return it to or to The Forum in Hemel Hempstead.
