Bins and recycling
Real Nappy Week
Did you know that a baby can use up to 5,000 disposable nappies in it's lifetime and they can each take up to 500 years to decompose? From 20-26 April 2015 is Real Nappy Week and to celebrate reusable nappies we're hosting a Nappucino afternoon. Here you can find out how to get started with real nappies, what the benefits are and you can even get a £50 cash back or free starter kit when you sign up. Visit the reusable nappy scheme page for more information.
Green wheeled bin
The garden waste collections started in February and they are a fortnightly collection. Don't forget, the green wheeled bin is for garden waste only. Cardboard can be placed in the blue lidded bin and food waste in the kerbside caddy.
The garden waste calendars were delivered at the start of February. This needs to be used alongside the waste collection calendar that you received last year with the new blue lidded bin.
You can check the collection day and download a copy of your calendar for any of your bins on the bin collection postcode checker by pressing the button below:

Flat and High Street Recycling Service Changes
We are currently looking at putting recycling service changes into place for flats and High Streets which will start later in the year. Until then, the online collection day postcode checker will not work for your property. If you want to find out when your collection day is you can submit an online request.
Your new Recycle for Dacorum service started on 24 November 2014
The bins were delivered together from 20 October until 23 November 2014. There should have been an information pack and calendar attached to the blue lidded bin.
Find out more about the changes to your collection service, view the leaflet and find answers to your frequently asked questions.

Order a kitchen caddy
Every household in the borough is entitled to one free kitchen caddy if you have not already received one. The caddy will help to separate food waste in the kitchen. It can then be emptied into either your home compost bin or into the kerbside caddy for weekly collection.
