Direct Debit

To set up a Direct Debit online you will need:

  • To be a named account holder of the account you want to use
  • To be the only person needed to authorise a Direct Debit on that account

Online

Our online payments system enables you to pay quickly, easily and securely. You can pay a range of bills (see table below) by debit card or credit card. We do not accept Diners Club, American Express, Solo and Electron cards.

  • Standing order / internet banking
    To make council tax and business rates payments, use the sort code: 601033: account number: 12442704. Please ensure you quote your account/reference number.

    To make housing rent account payments, use the sort code: 601033: account number: 12442712. Please ensure you quote your account/reference number.

    To make invoice payments, use the sort code: 601033: account number: 12441945. Please ensure you quote your account/reference number.
  • Telephone
    Call our 24-hour payment line on 03453 706070 to make housing, council tax, business rates and invoice payments. You will need your credit or debit card details and account/reference number to hand.

    Please note: as part of our continuing commitment to improving the quality of service provided, calls to the call centre may be recorded for training and service development purposes.

  • Post Office
    You will need your bill with you to pay your council tax or business rates. You will need your rent payment card to pay your housing rent. You can pay by debit card, cash or cheque at a Post Office. Cheques should be made payable to Post Office Ltd. The maximum amount the Post Office will accept for any single cheque is £1,000. To find your nearest Post Office, please use the branch finder tool.
  • PayPoint
    You will need your bill with you to pay your council tax or business rates. You will need your rent payment card to pay your housing rent.

  • In person
    Visit one of our Customer Service Centres to make council tax, business rates, housing and invoice payments by debit card, credit card or cheque. Note: We no longer accept cash payments at any of our offices. Please make all cheques payable to Dacorum Borough Council. Please write your account reference on the back of the cheque. Alternatively, send your cheque by post to:
