Parking fines and appeals
We are responsible for enforcing parking restrictions. Vinci Park
Services carries out this task on our behalf.
Civil Enforcement Officers are responsible for
enforcing parking on-street and in council run off-street car
parks. They issue tickets called “Penalty Charge Notices”
(PCNs) to motorists who are incorrectly parked.
Parking tickets (Penalty Charge Notices)
- For more serious parking infringements, the fine is £70. This reduces to £35 for prompt payment.
- For less serious parking infringements, the fine is £50. This reduces to £25 for prompt payment.
The Council keeps this income to offset running
You can pay your parking ticket (penalty charge notice

If you feel that you have been issued with a parking fine unfairly you should appeal to the Parking Centre in writing.

Further into the appeals process, you may
wish to appeal to the Traffic Penalty
Tribunal. The tribunal provides an independent system of appeal for
motorists who have unsuccessfully appealed via the Parking Centre
but still wish to pursue their case. You can get more details about this
