Dacorum has a range of fantastic sports facilities and venues, whether you’re a beginner or reaching for Olympic standard, we have something for everyone. Find out what’s important to us and our aims over the next few years through our  Sports and Physical Activity Strategy (PDF 3MB).

We work closely with Dacorum Sports Network to offer opportunities for you to be more active in your local area. Together we work with community clubs, volunteer groups and public organisations involved in delivering sport locally to ensure a healthy and active community.

Active Dacorum Hub

The Active Dacorum Community Hub is run in partnership with Apex in the Community and is a multi-activity, inclusive venue based in Hemel Hempstead. From art groups to seated exercise, dance classes to yoga, the opportunities for healthy, active fun are endless. The venue is also available to hire at affordable rates for the community.

Everyone Active

Boasting eight swimming pools (including a lido), gyms and racket sports courts, our local leisure centres in Hemel Hempstead and Berkhamsted and Jarman Park Athletics Track are run by Everyone Active. These venues provide amazing facilities for you to enjoy and are home to a huge number of sports clubs, from scuba diving to trampolining.

It’s also the main base for Sapphire Gymnastics, where double Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast Max Whitlock started his career.

Meanwhile, at the athletics track, you’ll find an eight-lane, 400-metre floodlit track plus a football pitch, clubroom, shower and toilet facilities.

We work in partnership with the Everyone Active Communities team to deliver a range of activities in the community, such as exercise to music and beginner pilates. Book your Everyone Active session online.

Arts and culture

Creative Hertfordshire

Creative Hertfordshire is the online network for the arts and creative community in Hertfordshire. It is a space for creative individuals, businesses and places to share what they do. If you are an artist, producer, creative organisation, creative business or venue, you can create a profile page and showcase your work to others in Hertfordshire and beyond. This is also another great platform to stay up to date with arts and cultural activities across the county.
