Garden waste collections are back

Garden waste Garden waste collections will restart from the fortnight beginning Monday 26 February.

You can find out when your next green-lidded bin collection is on your waste collection calendar or by using our bin collection postcode checker.

We're also continuing to offer our Additional Garden Waste Subscription Service. This gives you the opportunity to buy additional 240-litre green-lidded bins for £25 each (or use pre-existing green bins previously supplied by us) and have them collected on your normal garden waste collection day for a seasonal subscription fee of £50.

The regular garden waste service currently provided to householders will remain unchanged - this additional service is simply an optional extra.

Green-lidded bins are for garden waste only, such as:

  • grass/hedge cuttings
  • leaves
  • twigs/small branches
  • flowers (including cut flowers that are kept inside the house)
  • prunings
  • weeds
  • small animal bedding made from straw, hay or woodchips (but not shredded paper)

Householders are reminded to recycle all cardboard in the blue-lidded bin and all food waste in the food waste caddies. No plastic, cardboard or food waste should ever go in your green-lidded bin.
