Hosting the Olympic games in 2012 promises to
bring many benefits for the Country, the South East region and
locally.
Whilst 2012 may seem a long way off, the
Council is already planning ways in which the Borough can make the
most of this exciting opportunity.
In Dacorum we are using existing networks
across Hertfordshire to ensure we make the best of the
opportunities that arise from the Games. We are co-ordinating our
efforts across the County to get the best for the area in sports,
culture, tourism, business and involving the local community.

Could your sports club use some extra money?
We are proud to announce the launch of the
Dacorum Borough Council Olympic and
Paralympic Fund, administered by the Dacorum Sports Network, as
part of our commitment to London 2012.
Pre-Games volunteering programme launched
Could you work as a volunteer with the London
2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG)? There’s still time to apply for
a new scheme called ‘Trailblazers’,
which is inviting volunteers to make an important contribution to
the planning and preparation in the lead-up to 2012.
