The Local Development Framework

The work programme for the new Local Development Framework is set out in the Local Development Scheme (LDS). The current version came into effect on 1 May 2009.

The Local Development Framework (LDF) for Dacorum will replace the existing Local Plan, which was adopted in April 2004 and saved in September 2007 ('saving' was a requirement of the legislation which introduced LDFs: all policies except 27 have been saved). The LDF will set out policies and proposals for the development and use of land in the district for the period to 2031. It will set out a vision for the future of Dacorum and include objectives and targets, which developments must meet.
