Local views
Dacorum Borough Council has opposed "Investing
in Your Health" and has strongly supported the retention of Hemel
Hempstead as an acute hospital. It has raised concerns about
scaling down acute services and has questioned the accessibility of
Watford for people needing urgent A&E treatment.
The changes to hospital services have been
strongly opposed by the Dacorum Hospital
Action Group. The group was formed in 1975 and over the past
three decades has campaigned to keep vital hospital services in
Hemel Hempstead.
