Revised August bank holiday refuse and recycling
collection
There are changes to your refuse and recycling
collections because of the Bank holiday on Monday
30 August 2010. Check the table below for details of how
the changes will affect you.

Please ensure that your refuse and recycling is left on the
boundary of your property by 6.45am for collection. All
collections will return to normal from Monday 6 September.

Your Waste Service
The Waste Services Unit is committed to the
Waste Hierarchy. It is important to recycle but it is vital to
reduce, reuse and repair.
Dacorum Borough Council provides a range of
recycling services, including 34 recycling points, boundary
recycling (rECOllect) scheme for houses and three Household Waste Recycling Centres (sponsored by
Hertfordshire County Council).
The Waste Collection Service
Residents are provided with a:
- Green wheeled bin for uncooked and
cooked food waste including vegetable, fruit, meat, poultry,
fish, cardboard and green garden waste
- Grey wheeled bin for general refuse that
Dacorum cannot recycle
- Black box for newspapers, magazines, junk
mail
- Green box all food and drink cans,
aerosols, all plastic bottles
- Basket for all coloured glass bottles and
jars

Green garden waste, cardboard, fridges and
freezers, household and car batteries, metals and wood, and engine
oil are collected at the local Household
Waste Sites.
